A red leather case containing a selection of ladies sewing and grooming tools. 1900-1920
The five pearl handled tools are secured under red velvet loops and are a nail file, a crochet hook, a button hook, a stiletto and a pair of tweezers. There is also a pair of fancy scissors and a steel bodkin along with a decorative hall marked silver thimble assayed at Birmingham in 1918. The red silk in the lid is fitted with a needle book.
The tools are in excellent condition and the pearl handles are particularly attractive with decorative plated mounts. No holes or repairs in the thimble.
The case is in good order however the leather 'hinge' at the back looks to be a neat repair.
The case measures 16 x 11 cm ( 6.5 x 4.5 inches )
