A pair of small wooden pots hand painted with forget-me-nots. Inside there were really tiny beads called seeds which I've put into plastic bags for safe keeping.
They were made in Spa, now a town in Belgium, which was the original 'spa' town visited by tourists throughout the 19th century and who took souvenirs home with them. c1870.
Each pot is hand painted a little differently and then varnished. The lids just pull off.
3.5cm in diameter
1 cm high.
In excellent condition.
