A fine set of mother of pearl sewing tools in a steel studded red leather case. Inside the pearl sewing tools fit into cut outs in the mushroom coloured velvet block. There is also a loose silk squab to protect them edged with chenille. The lid is fitted with a mirror and is edged in the same chenille.
The eight fittings comprise a stiletto, a bodkin, a pair of scissors, a thread winder, a scent bottle, a mini reel, a needle case and a thimble. The stiletto, scissors, needle case and thimble are set with an enamel pansy. The scissor mounts are silver gilt and carry the 'fasces' mark for Parisian silver between 1809-1819 (a bundle of sticks with an axe head facing left in the middle)
The scent bottle has a hanging loop attached to its lid.
The case measures 13.5 x 7.5cm
In excellent condition- no damage or repair.
NB. The squab is slightly too big and hampers the closure of the lid unless it is tucked in carefully. In addition the back of the lid had a black mark which I've bleached and coloured so it is less obvious- mentioned for accuracy. (see last photo)
