A red leather case with engraved silver trim containing an 1807 almanac covered in green silk.
There's no handwriting in it but there is a scrap of paper in the front pocket dated 1816 mentioning a Lieutenant George Thomas of the HMS Tigris 'whilst in the West Indies though but arrived at the age of manhood' -'displaying an example for the Christian, the Son (?), the Officer and the friend'.
The first printed page is titled 'The Royal Repository or Picturesque Pocket Diary' and in Roman numerals MDCCCVII / 1807.
The pages are illustrated with little prints of British stately homes. There are also lists of the sovereigns of Europe, Peers, Members of Parliament and naval and military officers.
Condition- The leather has staining to the bottom fold of the case but otherwise is in clean condition. The silver trim is in good order. The interior has general wear to the edges of the green silk. The book is in excellent condition.
