A small 80 page book titled 'The Loss of the Royal George'. 1840
There are many relics from this ship to be found in antique shops-sewing tools, paper knives etc. This book tells its story from its sinking in 1782 using eye witness accounts to its recovery in 1840 when all the relics were created from its timber and copper.
Condition-The original cover had gone so it has been rebound. It has a vertical crease on the title page and a contemporary ink inscription but otherwise is now in good order.
