An attractive lacquered papier mâché snuff box profusely hand painted with Persian scenes. The lid is decorated with a man and woman against a garden background. There is a lot of gold detailing on their clothes and also on the background detail. There are painted animals around the side- a leopard and deer. The base is decorated with gilding. c1870
