An unusual French knife possibly used as an eraser in a writing kit. It is fitted with a damascened, engraved steel blade and has a layered and carved amber coloured handle. c1800
NB. It's light in weight so could actually be amber but I'm unsure. It's an early piece so likely not a form of celluloid.
13.5cm long.
In excellent condition- no damage to the handle. There is some rust on the blade but this is all but invisible to the naked eye being hidden by the engraving which still has its original gold and blue colouring.
