A wooden egg shaped box containing two thimbles and with a transfer print of Hastings on the south coast of England.
This is an example of Mauchline Ware - a British souvenir ware which was at its height in the late 19th century.
The thimbles are small in size and base metal -a young girl's and a maid's.
In excellent condition with some minor wear where the two halves meet.
The egg measures 6.5 x 4 cm ( 2.5 x 1.5 inches )
