A highly unusual piece found in a Georgian sewing box. It was given as a gift c1820.

It is made of paper and card and contains riddles.
The front cover is decorated with flowers, a musical score and the words- 'May your path be strewn with flowers'.
The back is decorated with roses and the phrase-
'This is affections tribute-friendships offering-whose silent eloquence more rich than words-tells of the givers faith in absence-and says- forget me not.'

Inside it opens up into many compartments where there are lots of riddles written in blue in longhand but I believe it is printed and not hand done- there are no answers unfortunately but if you can read the writing you may be able to solve some!

One reads 'Why are teeth like verbs?'
Another 'Why is a steam engine like a Prime Minister?'
Also 'What letters are most disagreeable to mankind?'

They are numbered and the last one seems to be no. 24.

In excellent condition-no damage.
