A silver plated wax jack which holds its original coil of sealing wax. It would have sat on a writing table to be used when adding a personal seal to letters and official documents by melting the wax and then impressing it with a patterned seal. This one is Spanish and has its snuffer attached by a chain. c1900.
The maker's name is impressed in the metal 'Valmazan' plus a small logo.
In excellent condition- no damage. Small area of wear on the top dish which shows the base metal through the plating. Some breaks in the sealing wax as seen.
