A wooden nib cutter incorporating a folding penknife. It was used to shape nibs made from feather quills. The sleeves are made of wood and it is in good order with no damage.
The folding knife is stamped 'Mappin Webb & Compy Sheffield' on the front and on the back-'...........worthy' in a pennant shape. The first part of the word is missing but it should read 'trustworthy' which would date it to c1890.
