An interesting red wax seal in its turned wooden box. The images are of King George 111 and Queen Charotte of Mecklenburg-Strelitz who were married in 1761.
The image of the King came from a painting by William Beechey 1753-1839. The portrait of Charlotte is very similar to a miniature by Henry Bone which was taken from a painting by William Beechey too although I haven't found an image of the original painting.
King George is dressed as a Field Marshall and wears the star of the Order of the Garter.
In excellent condition- no losses but with some fine cracks to the wax seal.
6.5 cm in diameter.
