An unusual novelty needle packet case made in the form of a guitar. It is stamped on the back 'Baggallay, Westall & Spence'. There is the diamond registration logo plus a number on the neck no. 628.
12cm long
4.75 inches
The example on the Coulthart site dates the patent to August 1878. Baggalay, Westall & Spence were Avery's agents in London.
In excellent condition but with tarnish.
NB.The hinge has a bent pin through the lugs rather than a narrow brass rod but that is the only fault and the hinge does work perfectly as it is. (see final photo)
