An early pair of steel scissors in their Sheffield Plated scissor sheath. The sheath has some of the underlying copper showing but this is considered acceptable with early Sheffield Plate which was made by fusing thin sheets of silver to copper plate and then creating the object from the sheet.
These elegant scissors are in excellent condition with little sign of their age. There are no cutler's marks. c 1790-1815
