An unusual gilt metal / ormolu pin cushion in the form of a basket. It is embossed with flowers and has a little metal handle just like the silver ones. It would likely have been fitted into a boxed set of tools circa 1840.
The purple velvet cushion could be the original but there are no signs of wear.
5.5cm high with the handle raised.
3cm across tapering to 2cm at the base.
In excellent condition- not flimsy!
