This is a nest of four small wooden boxes which fit one inside the other. All four boxes have an inlaid rope twist border and a central roundel. c1800

They are quite sturdy and have suffered no damage other than some loss to the original varnished finish.

 

Outer box   2.5 cm high x 3 cm in diameter
Tiniest box   0.75 x 1 cm.
