A small note book with tartan covers and a leather spine. The tartan pattern was transfer printed onto wooden boards and then varnished. The plaid is named 'Stuart' in the usual gold lettering on a black background. There is a decorative gilt clasp and inside it is lined in a patterned green paper. The white paper pad looks to be virtually complete and is possibly a replacement. c1840
