A lovely needle case made of punched card and decorated with geometric beadwork and cross stitch. The pattern is the same on both sides but the colours of the beads are different.
The decoration is on a small piece of punched card attached by tiny stitches to the backing card so as to not show the wrong side of the work on the inside of the finished case.
Inside there is some cloth stuck with a few old needles. The ribbon ties are turquoise coloured ribbon which matches the colour of the stitch work.
Some slight discoloration of the card but in excellent condition- it must have been a cherished gift. c1840.
