An unusual cotton reel with a heat pressed wooden top showing 'Dorcas' seated in a room. The text has the maker I.P. Clarke & Co Leicester. The bottom of the reel has a paper label indicating that this Dorcas reel of thread was for both machine and hand sewing. c1860.
