A folding red leather case with a gold catch containing sewing silks, a pair of scissors and a bodkin. It is late 18th to early 19th century in date.
Inside it is lined with pale blue silk with tamboured embroidery enhancing the flaps. The scissors are the same date-typical of the style of the period with close plated silver finger rings.
The bodkin is cut steel with gilt highlights.
In excellent condition with just an impact mark in the centre of the back when folded which was probably caused by the scissor blades inside. The catch works.
Folded it measures 11 x 7.5cm
4.5 x 3 inches
