A red leather note book / card case with gold tooling on the spine and with silver trim and silver name plates. French c 1840.
The silver mounts to the front and back covers are prettily engraved. The small silver plaque is engraved 'Souvenir' and the larger hexagonal plaque is blank. The silver slide action pencil should contain a wooden pencil but is empty.
Inside the cream silk lining is fitted with two pockets for visiting cards and is in pristine condition as are the unused, gilt edged paper pages of the booklet. The silver pencil is fitted through three pairs of loops which are part of the silver frame. The silver carries the French petit guarantee marks of Parisian silver.
In fine condition.
