A nice find -a pair of Georgian shoe buckles in their original tooled red leather case. The buckles are set with clear pastes and copper beads onto a silver back plate. There are a few suspect stones -two are rather small for their settings and one appears to be chipped but none are missing.
The steel is unmarked but the pair date to c 1770-1800.
The case is in excellent order with just light scuffing to the leather. Inside the black velvet lining is very worn.
The case measures 11 x 9 x 4cm
Each buckle 7.5 x 4.5 x 3cm
