An early needle case in blue silk with a gold paper trim. The case unfolds and has a gold paper lining. The needles are in various sizes and include three steel bodkins.
There are two labels- one which is found on their needle packets titled in gold on black 'H Milward & Sons 5-10 Burnished Egg Eyed Sharps'.
The little label in the middle has the patent details- 'Patented in Great Britain May 7th 1857 and in the United States April 19th 1859.'
In good condition- slight splitting to the silk on the spine where the remains of the ties are but none elsewhere. One paper leaf, which should be fitted with needles, is empty.
