An unusual silver thimble embossed with a bicycle in its blue velvet case. It was made in 1896 by James Fenton a Birmingham silversmith.
Various versions exist but this one's a gents bike with broad undotted tyres and the background has blackberries, leaves and a bird - the wings are obvious but the details on the bird's body are less pronounced.
Condition- it is in very good condition with light wear only and the hall marks are clear.
I can see no holes or signs of any being filled. It has the name of a previous owner on the rim E. Phayer.
