A glass inkwell from a writing box with a plated lid which is cork backed. It has shaped shoulders and is hand blown with a pontil mark on the base. The sander is slightly shorter and has a fixed, plated pierced top. c1820.

Height of inkwell 4cm
Height of sander 3.5cm
Both would sit inside a 4.5 x 4.5cm compartment.

In good condition but with the copper showing through the silver plating. The ink stained bung is the original and is fixed in place by red sealing wax over the pin as is usual. The lid of the sander isn't removable and a filler (plaster?) can be seen looking through the base which is fixing it in position.
