A pair of gold framed spectacles / eye glasses. The oval lenses are thick and corrective and the arms are long with turn pin extension.
The metal frame sits securely in a groove in each lens. c1900
There are no gold marks but the metal acid tests to better than 9 carat gold.
(An advert in the Army & Navy Catalogue of 1907 lists gold spectacles as being available in 9 and 15 carat gold.)
They measure 9cm ( 3.5 inches )from the side of one lens to the side of the other
In excellent condition- minor solder repair where the frame meets a lens ( see photo ).
