An early set of six thread holders from a Georgian work box. c1830. Unusually the pearl on the tops and on the bases are decorated with concentric circles.
*The early 19th century types usual have a bone central section with the tops and bottoms screwing onto it whereas the later ones have a brass tube and inner rod to join them together.
