A silver case embossed with the five angel heads called 'Reynold's Angels' and with a finger ring for carrying to church. Inside is the leather bound prayer book 'Printed by Eyre & Spottiswoode printers to the King's most Excellent Majesty'. The gilt edged pages are all there and it is in good condition with just a couple of corners turned over.

It is fully hall marked on the side for Birmingham 1903 maker's BP over DC (the Boots Pure Drug Company)

NB. Boots was a local chemist which transformed into a luxury department store for middle- and upper-class Edwardian society at the end of the 19th century. It had a 'Booklover's Library' where miniature books were sold with silver covers. This de luxe silver holder would have been a Christmas or Christening gift.

6 x 5 x 3 cm excluding the chain and finger ring.
The book is the original and is an exact fit.
