A 9-carat gold pen / pencil (tested)
It is a large piece with two crosshatched sliders which extend the nib holder and the pencil in the same direction. It has floral engraving and an inscription 'To C J Mann from A Barber'.
The end cap is set with an uncut oval of cornelian. This unscrews to reveal the lead chamber where there are a number of leads.
There are no maker's marks or symbols,
In excellent condition- the propelling pin is working and the nozzle unscrews. There are no dents or splits.
Closed it measures 11.5 cm
