A fine mother of pearl folding fork for use with soft fruits. It dates to c 1800 and would have had a matching folding knife kept in the pocket of a Georgian lady or gentleman..
The pearl is engraved with horizontal lines and set with little silver hearts, the silver fork is decorated on both sides and carries the assay marks for silver.
The spring action is strong and the silver spring cover is engraved with groups of stepped lines. English. c1800
In excellent condition-no damage..
NB. There is a natural flaw in the pearl on the back (see photo).
