It is likely to be German and test as low grade silver (.800) rather than sterling.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe two pencils have coloured stones on top matching the colours of the leads inside-one red and one blue. They are cut with random vertical lines -a friction fit-meant more to stop them slipping out of the holder than for decoration. The case has a suspension loop and would have been attached to a lady's long guard chain or a chatelaine.
