A navette shaped table snuff box. The wood has a very attractive grain -possibly curly birch. It is unlined and has a wooden hinge. c1840. 

11.5 x 6cm

In good condition- no damage other than a blackened mark with an associated small hole in the base ( see photo no.3 ) which could be insect damage or simply a flaw in the wood.

NB. The lid is very slightly warped (2mm out) which means it doesn't close tightly any more. (see last photo).
