A spot drilled bone lace bobbin which reads in a spiral from the bottom up-
'A Present from an Aunt 1837'
It is in good condition with some wear towards the spangle end through handling but the words are still readable.
NB. Lace making was a cottage industry using domestic animal bone and local soft woods not ivory.
