An excellent quality cut glass inkwell which would have been part of a set of fittings in a Regency gentleman's dressing box. The silver gilt is hall marked for London 1831 but there's no maker's mark. The piece is engraved in a geometric design and monogrammed with the initials possibly MV? with a baron's coronet above. The key shape is the locking mechanism which secures the cork bung in the glass ink bottle.

In excellent condition.

1.5 x 1.5 x 1.5 inches
Just under 4x 4 x 4 cm

* The Georgian period ended in 1830 and the Regency period
began in 1831.
