An antique sewing tool sometimes found in Georgian sewing boxes. It was for making a four sided cord in silk. This method was typically used for attaching a knitted pinball to the waist band.

This one is made from domestic animal bone not ivory as can be seen by the tiny black flecks which are the minute blood vessels whereas ivory has a grain.

9cm x 5cm
3.5 x 2 inches

In excellent condition.
