A novelty pin cushion in the shape of a butterfly pin stuck on the edges. The first pair of wings are covered in a printed cotton in a stylised pagoda design- chinoiserie being popular in the Regency period-probably off cuts from a dress. The other layers of card are covered in silk in yellow, red and figured mauve in a floral pattern. c1820-1830.
Some of the pins are missing but the rest are the sort made in two parts with the heads being applied separately so are the originals.
