A glass needle case with a picture of St John's College (Oxford) on the back and the college coat of arms on the front.
The spine is gold tooled leather and the interior is lined in a salmon pink watered silk. There are loops to take a few tools at the back - bodkins etc. and a piece of cloth for loose needles and pins.
The glass is in very good condition with no damage. There are very small spots on the edges that sparkle when viewed at an angle but this is typical of glass picture items where the adherence of the print to the glass has deteriorated a little. The leather spine has worn at the top and bottom through use.
