An 18th century silver filigree case for a pair of scissors with a suspension loop so it may well have been on a chatelaine. c1770
The silver is marked on the inner rim a few times but I've been unable to take a clear photo and I can't identify them however they are most likely Dutch.
Condition-Fair for its age.
The lid has been strained at the hinge so doesn't close completely unless pushed a little (see third photo) and there's also a small missing strip of silver just below the closure hook at the front. The main body of filigree is in excellent condition.
The case measures 8 x 3.5cm
