A spirally inscribed Victorian mutton bone lace bobbin with its original spangle.
The words inscribed on the bobbins are often spelt as they were spoken so can take some deciphering!
This one spells out-
'It is Ard to Part With my Sweetheart' (the 'Is' being written with a very tiny S so it reads as a letter P at first glance).
In excellent condition.
12cm long
4.75 inches
NB. Lace making was a cottage industry using domestic animal bone and local soft woods.
