A decorative silver plated egg shaped thimble case with chain so it could be attached to a chatelaine. It has a gardening theme - a crossed spade and rake in a motif on either side and flower heads on the lid. c1870.
In good condition- no damage and just slight wear to the plating on the high points.
6 x 2cm including the chain.
Just the egg section 3.5 x 2cm.
