A gilt brass needle holder. The brass sides are embossed with the figure of cupid and engraved with the title 'Cupid's Casket' and 'Avery & Son Redditch'. The top has the design registration details for 1872.
The mechanism is worked from one side only -you open the top of the case and then turn the numbered flower head which pushes the needle packet holders up into position.
