A fine meerschaum pipe with silver mounts and cover. The bowl is decorated with raptor claws and grotesque animal heads. The silver is marked with a hound's head and the number 3 to the left which is Austro-Hungarian c1872-1922 but .800 silver not sterling.
In excellent condition-the only flaw that I can see is to the tip of one claw which has a crack across it but is solid and to the end of the mouthpiece which has a tooth mark under it but nothing major.
NB. I think the mouthpiece is amber.
15cm long from the end of the mouthpiece to the catch on the silver cover.
