An unusual folding penknife with pearl sides and two steel blades in super condition. The cutler is named on one blade, the address on the other plus a star and a cross logo on the back of each. Mid 19thc.
'Rodgers Cutlers to Her Majesty
No. 6 Norfolk Street Sheffield.'
In addition one blade is inscribed 'Victoria Knife' which might indicate a commemorative piece.
The address and logo was used throughout the 19th century but the absence of 'England' would suggest pre-1890.
In excellent condition-good spring action, no damage and the steel has a polished finish.
