A metal case japanned to imitate tortoiseshell containing a knife, a steel ruler, a silver ear spoon, a silver bodkin and a silver pencil holder. The blade screws into the bottom of the case which then acts as a handle. All the pieces are there- no gaps.
The blade of the knife is stamped with the cutler's name. I haven't been able to read it but the steel ruler is stamped Palmer.

It is in good condition but with areas of loss to the japanning. English circa 1780.
