A small black lacquer case inlaid with pearl and twisted silver wire. The back cover is fitted with a gilt metal hook so it could be worn on the dress of a young lady at a ball. Inside the loose card booklet is printed with scenes from a ball and with pages titled with the names of various dances and with the faint penciled names of gentleman dance partners.
