An unusual pair of Scottish silver shoe buckles marked for Glasgow circa 1760-1799 ( the town mark changed to a square outline in 1800 ) The maker's mark is hard to make out but looks like JI or possibly JL.  They also have the original owner's initials TH.

The pierced silver frames are in good order with no breaks or repairs and the pitchfork steel chapes are free from rust.

6.5 x 5 cm with a rise of about 2.5cm in the middle.
2.5 x 2 inches
