An inlaid Tunbridge Ware cotton reel made of rosewood with a disc of wooden parquetry set in the top. c 1840
The base and waisted spindle are of rosewood and the discs that form the top and base are turned with a groove on the edge as they should be.
3.5 cm in height
2.5 cm in diameter at the top and bottom.
In excellent condition- no damage but some deterioration of the original varnished finish also a small slanting nick out of the edge of the base probably deliberately made by the original owner to hold the end of the thread.
