A pierced and carved vegetable ivory thimble case with a Stanhope in the handle. The view is of Runcorn in Cheshire. 19thc
The thimble inside is silver with an applied scalloped rim. It isn't hall marked but it dates to circa 1860.
The case, thimble and microphotograph are in excellent order.
