A rare little silver box with a pull off lid impressed with the image of King George 11 ( 1727-1760 ) There are some rubbed letters around the rim which are unreadable which would have had the name but the profile identifies the image as George 11 when compared to coins and paintings of the King.
It is around 300 years old and has commensurate wear but the image is still very clear. The profile on the lid is very similar to that on his coronation medal. No hall marks at all-at this date the most that might be there are the maker's initials on the base.
