A spirally inscribed bone lace bobbin-

'William Walin Stokeline 1839'

  • Stokeline ( now spelt Stoke Lyne ) is a village near Bicester in Oxfordshire England.

The bobbin is in excellent condition and has its original spangle.

 

NB. Lace making was a cottage industry using domestic animal bone and local soft woods not ivory.
